W Hostel is open in a very limited capacity during the COVID-19 crisis; we have modified our services and procedures through these challenging times.  In order to create a safe and convenient environment for our guests, we ask that you observe the following procedures before entering the Hostel.

Prior to your arrival, please carefully read our new policies and limited services. If you need to cancel your reservations for any reason, we will provide a 100% refund. 



  1. For guests making new reservations you need to book 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date. 

  2. During this period we are not receiving Go- Shows or any other guest without reservation.

  3. We reserve the guest room with a 24 hour  vacancy period between bookings.For this reason guests must have a reservation.


  1. We have reduced the number of available rooms. For dormitories, we have a low capacity so our guests can maintain social distancing. We ask that all guests maintain at least 6 feet of distance from each other.

  2. Check-in time is from 2:00pm to 6 pm. We will not accept guests before or after this time. At the moment, our reception is not routinely staffed, so guests  after hours or coming directly from the airport can use a self-check-in process. You will be provided with information by email or via whatsapp once you confirm your reservation.

  3.  After check-in, you will receive an email or phone message to join our WhatsApp group. It is the most effective way to stay in touch with our guests and communicate with each other respecting social distancing. Once you have joined the group, please introduce yourself. Make sure to notify the group once you have just checked in. The manager will reach out to you directly to ask that you privately send a photo of your ID. If you don’t have WhatsApp, you can use the email information to send your photo ID.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not wait after hours, so we ask for your punctuality on arrival. 


  1. We ask that all guests be free of any COVID-19 related symptoms upon arrival at the hostel.  If you develop symptoms, please call us immediately so we can assist you in finding an alternative, private accommodation in Santiago that would be more appropriate for your situation.

  2. When coming up the stairs, if you are able, please avoid using the handrails.  

  3. Upon arrival, the entrance will be locked and you will be asked to thoroughly sanitize your hands using the dispenser provided. Please follow these instructions and keep the door locked while going in and out of the building to ensure that your stay is comfortable and safe.

  4. To finalize your check-in, you will be asked to provide your passport or ID to be sent via whatsapp or a picture will be taken of your document.  A friendly reminder that check-out is 11:00 am. In case you leave earlier than 11:00 am, the keys should be put on top of the reception table in the checkout bucket. 

  5. We will hand out your room key and instructions informing you of the floor and room you will be sleeping in. Please follow these instructions carefully. Any further communication from us will be through the Whatsapp group or email.

  6. Face masks are required in the Dominican Republic. If you do not have one, please let us know before entering our premises so you can purchase one. If these instructions are not followed we will be obliged to cancel your stay.

  7. DORM ROOM, you will find only the beds you have reserved available.  Other beds will be covered with plastic.  Do not switch beds without approval from the manager or housemate.

  8. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds whenever you come back to the hostel and as often as possible. 


  1. All rooms are locked down once clean  and sanitized with an ultraviolet lamp. BEDROOM ENTRY RESTRICTED. 

  2. NO ACCESS WILL BE MADE TO THE BEDROOM DURING A GUEST STAY.. Housekeeping or Maintenance team members will only enter the bedroom on the guests request via Whatsapp, to re service the bedroom or fix a reported maintenance issue. If a member of staff has to enter a bedroom we will resanitize with the UV lamp before entering  and after the staff member  is done with the job.

  3. To schedule maintenance all personal items must be packed since UV Lamp may have an affect on guest  personal belongings.

  4. UV Lamp  destroys the DNA/RNA structure achieving sterilization and air purification process. Process duration is between 30 to 60 minutes.

  5. Your bed will be made with disinfected clean sheets, blankets ,towels and pillows.  We recommend  you bring your own towel  if not we kindly  offer upon request.


  1. We ask that all guests maintain social distancing of at least 2 meters  from each other and from housemates  

  2. Social distancing applies everywhere including public areas and outside entrances.

  3. We  have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in common spaces, with a focus on the counter tops, tables, kitchen, door handles,  public bathrooms and even room keys.

  4. If you need to touch a doorknob, handle or another surface, use the cleaning towels and alcohol spray offered in the common areas  before and after you touch them.  

  5. Only one person is allowed in the kitchen at a time.  Please wash your utensils, dishes, and use your alcohol spray on all surfaces immediately before and after using the kitchen. 

  6. DISINFECTION STATIONS are provided to allow guests to wipe traffic areas and antibacterial hand gel for sanitation. 

  7. ANTIBACTERIAL hand gel to be available for all guests to pick up from reception included.

  8. HOURLY CHECKS of all wash rooms, living room, staircases - door handles etc in public areas.


  1. Most attractions, shops, and other businesses in Santiago are currently closed, so plan on limiting your time outside the hostel.

  2. Use a face covering at all times when outside the hostel.

  3. Maintain social distancing from others on the street.

  4. Follow social distancing instructions and store protocols when shopping for food and other essential items. 

  5. There are various food chains you can order from through the Apps: GLOVO, PEDIDOSYA & UBEREATS. (address: Calle del sol #13 casi Esquina Santome).
